What Our Customers Say...

Description

Early Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

Famously conceived of on a train between Edinburgh and London Paddington, this is the debut novel by J. K. Rowling and describes Harry's first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

An early impression: the number line to the copyright page reads '50 49 48 47 46 45 44 43 42 41 40', and the copyright statement reads 'Joanne Rowling' as with many early printings. However, the misprint to page 53 where '1 wand' is listed twice has been amended, as it was in the second impression of the work. The review that was to the bottom of the front cover for the first two impressions has been changed to the 'Winner of the 1997 Smarties Gold Award', making this a third impression or later.

A remarkably well-maintained early edition of the first Harry Potter novel.

Condition

In the original paper wraps. Externally lovely with just the slightest edgewear to the tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are just a touch age-toned.
