What Our Customers Say...

Description

Captain Robert Falcon Scott (1868-1912) was a Royal Navy officer, remembered for leading the Discovery expedition to the Antarctic and later the ill-fated Terra Nova expedition. He set a new southern record on his first expedition, before perishing during his second having discovered the first Antarctic fossils ever discovered, which proved that Antarctica was once covered in trees and joined to the other continents of the world.

Diana Preston is an acclaimed historian. The paperback volume in this set is signed with a personal inscription from the author to the title page. Two volumes of the same work, the first being the first edition and the second being the first paperback edition, signed. With a personalised slipcase to accommodate both books.

In addition, he served as base commander at Halley, Faraday and Rothera stations.  His library collection was built over decades and highlights his love of polar exploration.
