The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with seven plates of black and white photographs. Collated, complete. Sir Donald Hawley (1921-2008) was a British colonial lawyer, diplomat and writer. In this work, Hawley provides a personal account of the events leading up to the Independence of Sudan in 1956, examining the legal, judicial, political, administrative and military aspects.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Dust wrapper is in lovely condition.
