The novel follows the couple Edward Lannion and Marian Fox, who are about to get married. However, the wedding is interrupted by a sudden and extraordinary event. Iris Murdoch is a well respected novelist of the twentieth century, writing novels on a variety of subjects , including morality, good and evil, and sexual relationships. Her most popular novels include 'Flight From the Enchanter', 'The Sea, The Sea', and 'The Nice and the Good'.

In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, smart. Small amount of edgewear. A couple of light marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
