Along with its predecessor, 'The Dictionary of 19th Century British Book Illustrators', this book, published by the Antique Collectors' Club, aims to showcase the best of British book art to exist in this time period. This book also attempts to analyse trends in book art through the period, from the revival of wood engraving, to the intricacies of commercial art, and the implementation of more book jackets and paperback wrappers.
Fully illustrated throughout, some in colour and some in black and white, with facsimiles from many 20th century British artists.
Written and signed by Alan Horne.
Including the original dust wrapper.
