First edition, first impression. With the vanishingly scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with thirty-eight pages of colourful images. When a red-haired girl names Tilly accidentally drops her toy bear into the pen of a young polar bear at London Zoo, she is shocked to watch it carry the toy to its cave. Later that night the bear comes to Tilly's home to return the toy. Written and illustrated by Raymond Briggs, an English illustrator, cartoonist, graphic novelist, and author who achieved critical and popular success. He is best known for his 1978 story The Snowman whose cartoon adaptation is televised and musical adaptation is staged each Christmas.
Condition
In the original pictorial paper covered binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with the odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
