The first edition, first impression of this work. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. An author’s presentation copy, signed by the author to the title page, ‘For Tom, without whom there would not have been a first book, and would never have been fourteen, with immense thanks, Bernard, and love to Regina’. Tom Maschler’s bookplate to the front pastedown. Maschler is a publisher who worked for Jonathan Cape, who discovered and published authors including Ian McEwan and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. ‘A World Elsewhere’ is a fascinating philosophical work debating the concept of utopia and its existence. Written by Bernard Levin, an English journalist, typically considered to be the most famous journalist of his day.

In the original publisher’s cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, fine. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Dustwrapper is fine with marginal sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Author’s inscription to the title page.
