First edition. Illustrated throughout with fifty-seven pages of colour images. A short humorous graphic novel featuring a boy and a homunculus. Telling the story of a boy, John, who is visited by the titular Man, a minuscule human who arrives in the boy's bedroom unclothed and hungry. Written and illustrated by Raymond Briggs, an English illustrator, cartoonist, graphic novelist and author who achieved critical and popular success among adults and children. He is best known for his 1978 story The Snowman, which is televised and its musical adaptation staged each Christmas.
Condition
In the original pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. Original price-clipped dust wrapper is also excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
