Very scarce volume, 1992. 3000 volumes were extracted out of which 200 were opened to the market for the Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat association. A set comprising the original book in Spanish language and its translation, meant to be read side by side, deprived of illustrations which are numbered and listed for reference. Spanish volume is colorful and complete with seventy-two illustrations and full plates. 

A volume narrating the history of the Indian community in Argentina from 1536 to 1845.

Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat was an Argentine executive and philanthropist. She has an art collection reportedly valued at $280million in 1999. 

From the library of Eric Kenneth Prentice Back. Kenn Back was a British meteorologist with the British Antarctic survey for many years.  He spent eight winters in the Antarctic and is a descendent of Captain George Back. In addition, he served as base commander at Halley, Faraday and Rothera stations.  His library collection was built over decades and highlights his love of polar exploration.

Spanish volume in the publisher's original cloth binding, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. English translation in half calf and paper covered boards, with titles stamped in gilt to spine. Externally excellent, with minor shelfwear only. Kenn Back bookplate to front pastedown. Dustwrapper is very smart with minor shelfwear only. Very smart grey cloth slipcase with illustration stamped to front and back board. Small closed tears repaired by previous owner, not affecting cover. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Complete with seventy-two illustrations to original Spanish volume. With unclipped dustwrapper.
