1992-1994 Shakespeare: The Animated Tales
What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
Two lovely illustrated volumes of Shakespeare's plays for children. Found in the unclipped dust wrapper. These two delightful volumes are the by-product of a series of twelve half-hour animated television adaptations originally broadcast in the early 1990s. The series was animated by Russian artists, and these two volumes reproduce their delightful illustrations with Leon Garfield's abridged versions of twelve plays. Designed to bring Shakespeare to a wider audience, the project was supported by scholars such as Professor Stanley Wells, Director of the Shakespeare Institute at the University of Birmingham, and Dr Rex Gibs of the Cambridge Institute of Education.
Condition
In the publisher's original blue cloth binding, in the unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely. The wrap to volume I has some marginal wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound, with bright and clean pages throughout.
