The Staatsgalerie is an art museum in Stuttgart Germany and opened in 1843. With the opening of the Neue Staatsgalerie in 1984, the gallery become one of Europe's leading museums. This volume celebrates the history of the gallery, the new Staatsgalerie that was designed by James Stirling and the history of the graphic art collection and the drawings, watercolours, pastel drawings and collages within the collection. 

With in-text illustrations, some in colour.
