The Treason of Isengard is the seventh volume in Christopher Tolkien's History of Middle-Earth and the second in his account of the evolution of The Lord of the Rings. This volume traces the great expansion of the tale into new lands and new peoples south and east of the Misty Mountain. There is a full account of the original Map, with re-drawings of successive phases. 

Christopher Tolkien was an English academic editor and edited much of his father's posthumously published work.  

With five illustrations including a Sketch-plan of the scene of the Breaking of the Fellowship Runes. 

In the original clipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. In the original clipped dust wrapper which is very smart with a few marks to the wraps and spine.
