The first edition stated of this thriller novel by popular author John le Carré. The title of this volume was taken from the nickname that was given to the British Secret Intelligence Service portion that was devoted to spying on the Soviet Union. 

John le Carré was a British author, who worked for Security Service and the Secret Intelligence Service before becoming a full-time writer. 

With unclipped dustwrapper.

Condition

Rebound in an institutional leatherette binding. Externally, lovely with minor shelfwear only. "Withdrawn for sale" stamp to half title page and library stamp to title page. Dustwraper is unclipped and excellent, with minor shelfwear only and slight creasing to head of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Lacking front free endpaper which has been removed by a previous owner.
