This volume is packed full of the wit and wisdom of Surtees and originally appeared in Bell's Life in London, a Sporting paper and gives an analysis of the Sporting season of 1845-6. 

Robert Smith Surtees was an English editor, novelist and sporting writer and is most remembered for his invented character of Jorrocks, a vulgar but good-natured sporting cockney grocer. 

With six beautiful colour plates, originally by H. Alken. 

With twelve pages of adverts to the rear.
