1989 Lawrence of Arabia: The Authorized Biography of T.E. Lawrence
What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Leather Binding, Limited Edition, Signed
This privately issued edition was limited to fifty-six numbered copies, with these being number seventeen. Flat signed by the author to each title page.
A very scarce biography of Lawrence of Arabia, the man who helped lead the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire during the First World War.
The first volume follows Lawrence from 1888-1918, and the second volume concludes in 1935. Not present here are the publisher's original slip case, and the third portfolio volume.
The first trade edition of this biography appeared one year later, as a single volume in 1990.
A lovely copy of this very scarce Limited Edition of the historical figure, a work reviewed by the New York Times with the glowing recommendation that 'this biography will endure beside Seven Pillars as his monument, and any future book about T. E. Lawrence will be but a commentary on it'.
