Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, With Dustwrapper

The first edition of this work. Inscribed by the author to the title page, 'For Gail... thanks for the rain for collapsing ceiling tiles and for your friendship! warmly Sue on Kinsey's birthday 5-5-88'. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. 'E is for Evidence' is the fifth novel in Sue Grafton's 'Alphabet Murders' series. The mystery novel features Kinsey Millhone at its centre, a private eye based in Santa Teresa, California. In this novel, the reader learns more about Kinsey's past, including her second ex-husband, Daniel Wade, who is a jazz musician and drug abuser. Written by Sue Grafton, who is best known for this influential and popular series of detective novels, known as the 'alphabet series'. She started writing her detective novels after a bitter divorce and custody battle, which resulted in Grafton imagining ways to kill or maim her ex-husband, providing inspiration for this detective series. Sadly, Grafton died before she was able to finish the series, writing a total of twenty-five novels only, ending with ''Y' is for Yesterday'.
