Volume one is illustrated with frontispiece, three plates, and four maps. Volume two is illustrated with two in-text diagrams and a folding map. Collated complete. The journals of Rochfort Maguire, an Irish Royal Navy officer who served as captain of HMS Plover from 1852 to 1853 during the Franklin search expedition. Edited by John Bockstoce. Voyages in Search of a Northwest Passage 1741-1747, Volume I: The Voyage of Christopher Middleton 1741-1742 Published 1994. Volume one only. Illustrated with frontispiece and ten plates. Condition

In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrappers are very smart with light shelf wear and the odd mark to the boards. Voyages in Search of a Northwest Passage has some wear to the joints of the wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
