The uncorrected proof copy of this work. 'The Book and the Brotherhood' is a novel about a close group of friends in England in the 1980s. A chain of events are set off when David Crimond reappears with a new book on Marxism nearly finished. This novel was shortlisted for the 1987 Booker Prize. Iris Murdoch is a well respected novelist of the twentieth century, writing novels on a variety of subjects , including morality, good and evil, and sexual relationships. Small amount of loss of paper to the tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Small bump to the tail of the first few pages.
