Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

In an attractive dustwrapper designed by Tom Phillips. The novel follows a group of friends from their days at Oxford through middle age, focusing on their enthralment with one of their contemporaries, the charismatic Marxist scholar David Crimond. Widely considered among her best works, the novel is notable for its emotional intensity and keenly observed characters.

Condition

In original cloth binding with unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart aside from some wear to head and tail of spine. The Brodart-protected dustwrapper is faded to spine with some creasing to front flyleaf, otherwise in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound with pages clean aside from age-toning, due to paper used. A few pages creased at edges.
