Illustrated with a family tree of the Royal House of Windsor to the paste downs and endpapers as well as twenty-four pages of photographs throughout the text.
This is a wonderful biographical account of the Windsor family, which focuses particularly on the 'making of their royal house'.
Contents fall under three headings, those being 'Foundations', 'Decline', and 'Revival', with chapters such as 'Queen Mary and the Sacred Kingship', 'The Snowdon Factor', and 'A Megastar is Made'.
Written by John Pearson (1930-2021) an English novelist and biographer. He wrote a range of biographies on figures such as Ian Fleming, the Sitwells, as well as the Kray twins.
Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with minimal bumping to the extremities and the head and tail of spine. Dust wrapper is also excellent, with minimal edge wear to the wraps and a few marks to the front of wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Ink inscription to the half-title page.
