What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

'An Artist of the Floating World' is Ishiguro's second novel, and was named the Whitbread Book of the Year.

The first edition, first impression, printed by Butler & Tanner.

Set in post Second World War Japan this novel is narrated by an ageing painter, Masuji Ono. He reflects on his life and reputation. Ono finds himself needing to accept responsibility for his past actions. 'An Artist of the Floating World' is regarded as a work of Global Literature and Historical fiction.

A fantastic novel, which has been hailed as one of the greatest ever written. Upon awarding Mr Ishiguro with the Nobel Prize in Literature, the Nobel foundation cited this novel as making him a 'highly visible young writer'.

A fine example of this work.
