From the library of Allen and Beryl Freer. The Freers were avid art collectors, and acquired quite the selection over the twentieth century, of works mostly bought from the artists. Allen organised many exhibitions of artists he admired and published several works on art. With Allen Freer's bookplate to the front pastedown.
Limited edition, numbered XXIV of 335 copies printed. This is one of the thirty-five copies quarter bound in leather with a set of fifteen prints of the engravings.
Bound by Smith Settle.

Letter from the artist Gwenda Morgan to the prior owner 'Mr Freeth' dated 1986. 'Thank you very much for your letter. After you had left here I found the enclosed note in my writing pad. I am sending it just in case you may want it. It is nice to know that two of my engravings will be included in you exhibition...'

In the publisher's original quarter leather binding, and marbled paper boards. Second volume is in original paper covered boards. Both volumes are in the original slipcase. Externally, both volumes are fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
