Description

Colour Plates, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

'Birds of South Africa' was first published in 1940. Written by zoologist Austin Roberts (1883-1948), it was the first comprehensive work on South African ornithology, and has since seen numerous revisions and expansions by various experts.

This is a third impression of the fifth edition.

Illustrated with diagrams and depictions of the birds included by Kenneth Newman and Geoff Lockwood, as well as maps in the text.

Complete with an unclipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the publisher's original full leatherette binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Dust wrapper is a touch bumped to the head but otherwise in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
