The first edition of this work. In the original unclipped dustwrappers. Illustrated with thirty-seven colour plates. An English translation of 'The Five Scrolls', a bilingual work with the original Hebrew. 'The Five Scrolls' are parts of the Ketuvim, the third major section of the Tanakh. The Five Scrolls are the 'Book of Ruth', the 'Book of Lamentations', 'Ecclesiastes', and 'The Book of Esther'. Edited by Albert Friedlander and Herbert Bronstein. Both men were rabbi. Illustrated by Leonard Baskin. Baskin was an American artist, who believed in the superiority of figurative art.
