'Getting to Know the General: The Story of an Involvement' is a travelogue and autobiography which chronicles Greene's five-year personal involvement with Omar Torrijos, ruler of Panama from 1968 to 1981, and Sergeant Chuchu.

Graham Greene (1904-1991) was a English writer and novelist, who was particularly known for his serious Catholic novels and his thrillers. He was shortlisted for the Nobel Prize for Literature in both 1966 and 1967. 

This copy comes with the review copy leaflet from the Bodley Head publishing company. 

Collated, complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding, in the unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with no noticeable faults. Dust wrapper is in a similarly excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound, with bright and clean pages throughout.
