What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
First edition. Very scarce. Illustrated throughout with many colour images. A detailed study on the careers of John Richard Clayton and Alfred Bell, who founded Clayton and Bell in 1855. The company was one of the most prolific and proficient British workshops of stained-glass windows during the latter half of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Their commercial success was due to the high demand for stained-glass windows at the time, their use of the best-quality glass available, the excellence of their designs and their employment of efficient factory methods of production. As such, their windows are found throughout the United Kingdom, in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Written by Peter Larkworthy, a British author.
