A scarce signed and inscribed copy. Inscribed by the author to the half title: "To Stephen with warmest regards Joe". 

From the library of Hungarian-Canadian author Stephen Vizinczey, best known for his 'In Praise of Older Women', and 'An Innocent Millionaire'. His writing was praised by the likes of Graham Greene and Anthony Burgess, describing his fiction as social epics which breathe hope in a corrupt world.

This work was written by the author of 'Portrait of a Cold War', Joseph Burkholder Smith. This work provides an account of James Madison's (the fourth president of the United States) plans to take Florida from Spain.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart with slight minor marks and very minimal wear to the head and tail of the spine. Lacking front free endpaper, with light offsetting to the rear. The wrap is excellent with slight sunning to the spine, slight marks and minor edge wear. The odd spot and minor offsetting to the verso. Internally, binding to half title to pp. 9 re-enforced with tape, otherwise firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
