What Our Customers Say...

Description

Colour Plates, First Edition, Illustrated, With Dustwrapper

The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. 144 illustrations reproduced in colour. Collated complete. John Piper (1903-1992) was an English painter and printmaker. His work often focused on the British landscape, especially churches and monuments, and included tapestry designs, book jackets, screen-prints, photography, fabrics and ceramics. This is Richard Ingram's study of John Piper's art, focusing on the landscapes and buildings of England and Wales, with reproductions of his aquatints, drawings, collages, oil paintings and watercolours. Some of the paintings were specially painted for this book, and many are reproduced for the first time.
