Compiled by authors Robert L. Wright and his daughter Rochelle Wright, this work is a charming collection of 116 songs and ballads that relate to the Danish emigration experience. Comprising 116 songs that were originally printed between 1850 and 1900 as street ballads, each song is presented in the original Danish with a full English translation and small explanatory note. Accompanied by melodies to which the songs were sung in the final chapter. ‘Danish Emigrant Ballads and Songs’ is the fourth volume in Wright’s collection of ‘Ballads and Songs of the Westward Migration’, begun in 1957.
Condition
In original publisher’s full cloth binding. Externally lovely, with some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Very light mark to the head of the spine. Very light mark to pastedown and recto of endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
