This edition was limited to 1000 copies, this being number 246. A collection of over 200 full-page colour plates showing different oriental rugs in private collections. An excellent overview of Persian and Oriental art. With a foreword by Pierre de Narbonne, an introduction by Claude Kechichian describing the history of the Middle East, a market analysis by E. Vayis and an essay on cultural perspectives by the editor, L. W. Harrow. With a gift label to the front paste-down for one Commander Loftus Peyton Jones, the International Secretary for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Gifted by the management board of the Saudi Arabian Youth Award Jidda, 1983.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding with gilt lettering. Externally, very smart with minor shelf wear and a few marks to the boards. Gift label to the front paste-down. The odd spot to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean.
