The first edition of this work. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. Authors presentation copy to Tom Maschler. Signed by the author to the title page, 'Dear Tom, Thanks; Thanks; and thanks, Yours, Bernard'. Tom Maschler's bookplate to the front pastedown. Maschler was the head of Jonathan Cape, who was one of the key figures in creating the Booker Prize in the 1960s. 'Conducted Tour' is a charming travel work, following to author to Adelaide, Florence, Bath, Hohenems, Salzburg, Bayreuth, Edinburgh, and more. Written by the journalist Bernard Levin, generally considered to be the most famous journalist of his day.
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, fine. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Dustwrapper is near fine with sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
