'The Night before Christmas' is a classic tale written by Clement C. Moore in 1822 to amuse his children. Christmas tradition recognises its opening lines "'Twas the night before Christmas / When all through the house / Not a creature was stirring, / Not even a mouse..."
This is a facsimile of the 1902 edition with charming illustrations in colour throughout by William Wallace Denslow, better known for his illustrations to 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.'
Complete with unclipped dust wrapper.
Condition
In the original publisher's printed boards binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, gentle cockling to lower margin of boards due to possible damp. Dust wrapper unclipped and smart with some wear to extremities, minor closed tear to front wrap, lightly sunned to spine and lower margin of wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
