First edition. Written as the journal of a young aristocrat, Edmund Talbot, whose influential godfather has arranged for him to be employed with the Governor of New South Wales. This story details Talbot's account of a six-moth voyage to Australia in the early nineteenth century with a group of British migrants on a converted man-of-war. Written by William Golding, a British novelist, playwright, and poet best known for his novel Lord of the Flies. He was awarded the 1983 Nobel Prize in Literature.

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with minor wear and the odd small mark to the panels. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
