A beautifully presented three volume set comprising of first and second editions. Volume one and two are second editions and volume three is a first edition.

This very scarce collection is presented in a decorative slip case.

These works contain the thoughts of A L Rowse regarding the works of Shakespeare. The volumes are categorised into Comedies; Histories and Poems; Tragedies and Romances.

Rowse provides an introduction prior to each poem or play.

Illustrations and photographs throughout each work, including costume designs and Shakespearean actors of the past.

Condition

In publishers original cloth binding. Externally in excellent condition, with just minor shelf wear only. Bright cloth with gold gilt detailing on the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean throughout. Slip case in near fine condition, with some light edge wear and slight fading. Slight loss to adhesive to rear of slipcase.
