The first edition of this work. In the original unclipped dustwrapper. Author’s presentation copy to Tom Maschler, inscribed to the title page. Tom Maschler’s bookplate to the front pastedown. Maschler is a publisher who worked for Jonathan Cape, who discovered and published authors including Ian McEwan and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. ‘Taking Sides’ is a collection of pieces written by Bernard Levin that had originally been published in ‘The Times’. Written by Bernard Levin, an English journalist who is generally considered to be one of the most famous journalists of his day.

In the original publisher’s cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, fine. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Dustwrapper with a bit of sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Author’s inscription to the title page.
