What Our Customers Say...
Description
Colour Plates, Early Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed
Signed edition of Masquerade by Kit Williams in the original publisher's paper covered boards. Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown. From the library of Tom Maschler, a noted publisher who headed Jonathan Cape for over three decades. During his career he helped to publish and discover works by Ernest Hemingway, Gabriel Garcia Marques, Ian McEwan, Salman Rushdie, Joseph Heller, John Lennon, and many other influential authors. He was also a one of the key figures in the creation of the Booker Prize in 1969.
A beautiful picture book also illustrated by the author with beautiful colour drawings throughout. The book is a treasure hunt, which concealed clues to the location of a hidden golden hare somewhere in Britain. The book inspired a genre of books known as armchair treasure hunts.
