An enormous success, Edith Holden's diary was written under title Nature Notes for 1906 and first published posthumously in facsimile form in 1977. The present copy the seventh impression of 1978. A stunning work which ensured its author's fame, it records in words and colourful paintings the flora and fauna of the British countryside through the changing seasons of the year. 

Condition

Rebound in striking half crushed morocco over cloth covered boards. with five raised bands, gilt tooling to spine, gilt to top edge. Externally lovely, only a touch of fading to spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages (appearing slightly age-toned as reproduced). Paintings in colour adorn the whole volume in text.
