To the front flyleaf it is stated 'Midnight Clear is an endearing Christmas story first published in this special edition limited to 500 copies of which only 350 are offered for sale to collectors, each copy being signed by the author and the artist. The exquisite drawings by Shirley Felts catch exactly the charm and spirit of Lesley Thomas' delightful story.' Leslie Thomas was best known for his comic novel 'The Virgin Soldiers'. This was his debut novel, and earned him a great literary reputation. It was inspired by his own experiences of National Service in the British Army.
Condition
In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Held in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with light shelfwear to the extremities. Dustwrapper is very smart with minor shelfwear to the extremities. A few light spots to the front and rear wrap, which has faded to the spine. Chip to the head of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages have deckled edges, yet are bright and clean.
