This study explores the specific birds one would fine residing in the Eastern Himalayas region. Written by the "Birdman of India" Salim Ali (1896-1987), who was the first Indian to conduct systematic bird surveys across India.
Ali wrote several bird books that popularised ornithology in India, and became the a key figure behind the Bombay Natural History Society.
Included is an obituary newspaper clipping of the author tipped in by the previous owner.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart with minor bumping, heaviest to the tail of the spine. Marks to the boards. Dust wrapper is edge worn and chipped to the spine head and tail. With large closed tears to the front panel. Spine is slightly sunned with handling marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound.
