Illustrated, Leather Binding, Limited Edition, With Slipcase

A limited edition work, limited to twenty-five hundred copies, of which this is numbered one-thousand and forty-eight. The limited edition was printed for the members of the Medicinia Rara, on paper manufactured by the Papierfaabrik Scheufelen in Oberlennigen.

This is a faithful facsimile of the first 1714 Lancisi edition, belonging to the Wurttembergische Landesbibliothek Stuttgart.

Illustrated with forty-seven plates. Collated, complete.

In the original paper covered slipcase. Slipcase in a very good indeed condition.

Bartolomeo Eustachi's important anatomical work, illustrated with his original engravings that show his diligence and care taken whilst dissecting. This work shows his abilities, and the utmost pains he took to give accurate views of the shapes, size, and position of the organs in a human body.

Eustachi is credited with being one of the founders of the science of human anatomy, his ground breaking research shaping sixteenth century scientific study.

The advance note and introduction booklet are both loosely inserted.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter morocco binding with cloth to the boards, in the original paper covered slipcase. Externally, smart. Spine is a little faded. A few faint marks to the boards. Slipcase with some minor marks and a little fading. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Slipcase in a very good indeed condition.
