First edition. Scarce work. Signed by the editor in presentation to George Angeloglou, a Greek broadcaster who launched the BBC Greek service, with a letter on the editor's headed paper, dated October 1977. An extensive history of the Greek Merchant Marine with details of shipping and methods of transitioning from sail to steam during the years of 1895 to 1945. Illustrated with many illustrations of ships, most of which are in colour. Written by Manuel E. Kulukundis, a Greek ship owner and mentor of the shipping community of the twentieth century. Edited by J. A. Hadjipateras, a Greek book editor.

Condition

In the original grey cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear only. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping to the extremities. The odd small closed tear and mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Editor's ink inscription to the front endpaper.
