The first edition of this work. A comprehensive study of the history of Miles Mason and the Mason Manufactories between 1796 and 1853. Miles Mason sold imported porcelain from China until the imports ceased, which is when he developed a successful replacement: ironstone china. 

Written by Reginald Haggar and Elizabeth Adams. 

Illustrated with eight full page plates in colour and further black and white plates. Collated, complete.

With price clipped dust wrapper.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear, bumped to head and tail of spine and extremities. Dust wrapper price clipped and very smart with minor shelf wear only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
