The Ship's Cat, also known under its full title of The Adventures & Brave Deeds Of The Ship's Cat On The Spanish Maine: Together With The Most Lamentable Losse Of The Alcestis & Triumphant Firing Of The Port Of Chagres, is a 1977 children's narrative poem. The story follows the cat who serves a swashbuckling crew of the English privateer ship Alcestis. Written by Richard George Adams, an English novelist and writer of the books Watership Down, Maia, Shardik and The Plague Dogs. The Peacock Party, as a sequel to other works, Sir Perceval Peacock plans a party for those of his friends who were excluded from the Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast. Written and illustrated by Alan Aldridge, a British artist, graphic designer and illustrator. He is best known for his psychedelic artwork made for books and record covers by The Beatles and The Who.

In the original pictorial boards. Externally, very smart with minor shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
