Containing a collection of fifty papers of scientific papers and reports that cover all of the ichthyological studies of Nicaraguan lakes since 1960. Featuring a prior owner's ink inscription of a 'R. H. McConnel', or Rosemary Helen Lowe-McConnell, the renowned English ichthyologist, ecologist, and limnologist known for her research on tilapia and aquaculture. Lowe-McConnell was a pioneer in the study of tropical fish ecology and an early adopter of the use of scuba diving for scientific research, and made a significant contribution to our understanding of the taxonomy, evolution and ecology of tropical fishes. Complete with original unclipped dustwrapper. Copiously illustrated throughout with black and white photographs, maps, and figures.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally bumped and rubbed to extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to front free-endpaper. Dustwrapper worn, with loss to upper and lower extremities, more severe to rear of wrap. Dustwrapper chipped to head and tail of spine of wrap, resulting in slight loss. Slight fading and marking to wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean throughout.
