First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

Two plays by Tom Stoppard, complementary to each other and always performed together. The first edition, first impression of this work. In the original publisher's wraps. Following a select committee of the House of Commons as they discuss a ridiculous scandal at the centre of tabloid press. 

The work was first performed as an ambiance lunch-hour Theatre Club presentation at Interaction's 'Almost Free Theatre' in April 1976, then opened in June of the same year and plated four years at the Arts.

Tom Stoppard is known for co-writing screenplays for Brazil, The Russia House, and Shakespeare in Love; He has received an Academy Award, an Olivier, and four Tony Awards. His plays often focus on themes of human rights, censorship, and political freedom.

Condition

In the original publisher's illustrated wraps. Externally excellent with minor shelf wear only. Previous owner's initials internally to the front wrap, dated 1977. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
