The first edition of this work by acclaimed author Anthony Burgess.
This tale was primarily written for children but is very enjoyable at any age. It follows the story of Edgar as he vanishes through the inkwell in his school desk and meets the Anglo-Saxon kings of England. A Long Trip to Teatime is a sort of Alice in Wonderland, as the protagonist goes through a fantastic voyage through the mysterious city of Edenborough in order to make it back to school in time for tea.
Anthony Burgess was an English writer and composer. Although he was mainly a comic writer, his dystopian satire A Clockwork Orange is his most acclaimed novel.
