Chauncy's substantial look into the antiquities of Hertfordshire, a fantastically detailed work.

This work took the author fourteen years to write, with the plates illustrating birds-eye views of the seats of the major subscribers to his work.

Volume I illustrated with twenty-two folding plates, and five plates.

Volume II illustrated with a folding map to the frontispiece, and fifteen folding plates.

Written by Henry Chauncy, an English topographer and antiquarian.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrappers. Externally, fine, with only minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines. Dustwrappers with light edgewear, and minor sunning to the spines. Some minor marks to the wraps and a couple of spots to the reverse of the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Folding map to Volume I with a small closed tear
