With 142 illustrations, including forty in colour, this work proves 'a superb record of some of the finest bird illustrations to have appeared up to the present century, including famous examples from such artists as Audubon, Gould, and Edward Lear.

In the publisher's original cloth binding, in price clipped dust wrapper with card slip case. Externally, fine. Small loss and closed tears to tail of front wrap. Tape repairs to reverse of front wrap tail. Edge wear to back strip head and head of rear wrap, with a small loss here. Rubbing to back strip head and tail of slip case, with small closed tear to tail of rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
