First edition. Scarce work. Illustrated with fifty-two illustrations and thirty maps, four of which are folded into a pocket at the rear. Collated complete. A history of the Parachute Regiment in India, with chapters on the story of the parachute, the first para-brigade, defeat and victory, defence of Jammu and Kashmir, the formative years, battle honours, and more. Written by Major K. C. Praval, of the Fourth Indian Division, an Indian army Major who won the Indian Distinguished Service Medal.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with the paper to the front pastedown coming away slightly. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small handling mark. Light age toning to the endpapers.
