Part of a limited edition publishing of only 2,000, of which this set is number 1,185.

This work is intended to give helpful information regarding the history, doctrines, institutions, and important personages, past and present, of world Methodism. 

Including a frontispiece of John Wesley, British cleric, theologian, and evangelist, who was a leader of a revival movement within the Church of England known as Methodism.

Also including a full page portrait of Bishop Nolan B. Harmon, the editor of this work. 

This work also contains numerous in-text illustrations.

This set is from the Nottingham Central Library, and contains numerous ex-libris stickers and stamps throughout (see condition report for more detail). 

Condition

Uniformly bound in the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with only slight bumping to head and tail of spine. Small patch of discolouration to the bottom edges of both volumes. Ex-libris stickers to the tail of the spine on Volume I. Ex-libris barcode to the front free-endpaper and sticker residue to the front pastedown of Volume I. Ex-libris sticker and barcode to the front pastedown and front free-endpaper of Volume II. Internally, both volumes firmly bound. Ex-libris stamps to the title page and pages 25 and 50 of Volume I. Ex-libris stamps to the title pages and pages 1363 and 1379 of Volume II. Otherwise, pages very bright and clean.
